IMF expects global GDP to fall by 3% in 2020

In its latest World Economic Outlook, published on Tuesday 14 April, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) predicts a historic 3% drop in world GDP in 2020, a direct economic consequence of it now calls the « Great Lockdown ». The crisis will also hit sub-Saharan Africa hard, with the IMF predicting negative growth of 1.6% this year.
